Sky in the Community

Community involvement has always been important to Sky Recruiting Founders Liz Brittain and Chris Johnson, and they have instilled that value in the Sky team. Volunteering and charitable support is a vital part of Sky’s culture.  Sky Recruiting  is a corporate sponsor to the Children’s Book Bank in Portland, Oregon. The Children’s Book Bank understands that one of the biggest obstacles to literacy is the scarcity of books in the home. In fact, two thirds of low-income families own no books for their children. Early exposure to books is very important to developing prerequisite literacy skills and to school success beginning in Kindergarten. Sky Recruiting has sponsored book drives, collecting hundreds of books for the Book Bank and have also worked as a team hand cleaning gently used books to be given to low-income families.

Everyone on Sky’s team is committed to giving back in a variety of ways. Our team actively donates their diverse skill sets to organizations which include, Meals on Wheels, Worksource Oregon, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Friends of Tualatin River Wildlife Refuge, The YMCA, and The Jake Sake Foundation. Everyone on Sky’s team is competitive, this is demonstrated both at work and in off hours through a variety of coaching roles. Chris Johnson coaches both his son’s in basketball and has won two City Championships, Cameron Hall assists coaching JV High School football and Duane Grogans lends his hand to children’s softball. Whether working together or on their own, Sky Recruiting’s Team is all about giving back and making a difference in everything they do.
